Michèle Flury was born in Basel in 1990. After completing her bachelor’s degree in psychology, she graduated in directing in 2018 and has been working as a director and writer ever since.

Her first documentary short THE SOUND OF BIRDS STOPS THE NOISE IN MY MIND won Best Documentary at Beirut Women Film Festival in 2019. Her first fictional short I'VE BEEN HERE ALL DAY premiered at Les Arc Film Festival in 2021. Furthermore, Michèle worked as an editor on the short documentary ALL CATS ARE GREY IN THE DARK, which won the European Film Award in 2020.

With her short film HEARTBEAT Michèle won the Best Swiss Newcomer Award at Locarno Film Festival in 2022 and celebrated the North American premiere at Tribeca Film Festival in 2023. Her recent short film WAKING UP IN VEGAS, co-produced by Swiss SRF, premiered at renowned Cinekid Festival and was selected by Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur in 2023.

Currently, Michèle is writing her debut feature PAS TA MAMAN, which won the Alphapanda Market Breakout Award at Locarno Film Festival 2023. The jurors called PAS TA MAMAN “a brutal yet playful tale that uses contrasting genres to explore a current and important topic, abuse against women and what it means to be sexualized, victimized and to fight back.
